Sunbit offers a simple, fast, and transparent way for customers to pay over time for auto repairs. With our technology, integrated right into Tekmetric, customers can complete the application in seconds—with no hard credit check—right from their phone. Approved customers can choose flexible payment plans, spreading the cost over time. There are no late fees, and the process is designed to be stress-free for both the customer and your team with nearly every customer approved.

How should I explain Sunbit to customers?

How do customers pay with Sunbit?

Consumers select a payment plan during checkout and enter a bank-issued debit card. Prepaid debit cards and credit cards are not accepted. Your business is paid upfront, while Sunbit manages all billing and collections.

Is financing available for all repairs?

Financing can be used for any consumer-pay portion between $60–$20,000.

Is financing available in all states?

Sunbit is available in all U.S. states, but some restrictions may apply.

Does Sunbit run a hard credit check on customers?

No. Sunbit uses a soft credit check that does not impact the patient's credit score.

What happens if a customers misses a payment?

The financing agreement is strictly between the consumer and Sunbit. The shop is not impacted if a customer is late or defaults on payments.

Can customers pay off their financing early?

Yes. Customers can make additional payments or pay off the balance early without penalty.

When should I introduce financing?

Introduce financing early and often to increase job approvals and help consumers manage costs, including: before the appointment, at check-in, while presenting the estimate, and at checkout.

How should I explain Sunbit to customers?

Can I add fees or increase prices if a customer chooses Sunbit?

No. Sunbit merchant fees cannot be passed on to the customer. Do not add surcharges, increase prices, remove discounts, or change pricing based on how the consumer pays.

Can I complete the application for the customer?

No. The application must be completed by the customer directly to ensure accuracy and compliance. They should use their own device and email address, and have time to review their terms, including APR and down payment options.

What sort of late fees or penalties are there when using Sunbit?

No. Customers are never charged fees, deferred interest, or penalties.

How quickly does the shop get paid?

Funding is confirmed almost instantly and typically deposited within 1–2 business days, like credit and debit card processing time.

When should consumers open the loan?

Loans should be opened on the same day the services are performed.

What if the service is canceled or changed?

If services are not performed or are partially completed, unused funds must be refunded or adjusted. You can process cancellations or adjustments directly within your platform, similar to how you would manage a credit card transaction.

Can I tell the consumer what their approval odds or APR will be?

No. Approval results, APR, and down payment amounts are determined individually and in real time. Avoid making promises or assumptions about what a consumer will qualify for.

Does offering financing cost the shop anything?

There are no additional Tekmetric subscription fees, simply completed the form at the top of this page to have the Tekmetric team enable Sunbit through your current package. Sunbit charges a flat 4.99% merchant fee + $0.10 transaction fee, deducted from the payment.
